Back in 1995, the streets of Dublin rumbled with the sound of roaring engines as Thunder Road CafƩ hosted the inaugural Bikers for Breast Cancer Run. Our iconic biker-themed restaurant became the starting line for a unique charity ride that saw Harley Hogs and Roadsters hitting the open road for a great cause.

But it wasnāt just bikers revving upācelebs like snooker player John ParrotĀ and Everton football stars Gary Ablett, Dave Watson, and Barry HorneĀ joined the ride alongside business icons like John FitzpatrickĀ of Fitzpatrick's Hotel in New York. After the engines cooled, the riders rolled back to Temple Bar to party the night away in true Thunder Road style.
The next day, it was horsepower of a different kindĀ at the Budweiser Irish Derby, where fashion took center stageāleaving biker leather behind.
As we celebrate 30 years of Thunder Road CafĆ©, weāre looking back at the memories that shaped our legacy. If you remember that epic ride or partied with us that night, share your memories in the comments!

DUBLIN will resound to the roar of motorbike engines this after-noon, when the inaugural "Bikers for Breast Cancer" run begins at the new ThunderRoad CafĆ© in Fleet Street. But it won't be all Hell's Angels and Mad Maxes, even though a large contingent of Roadsters and Harley Hogs is expected to take part.Ā

Riding alongside these tough guys will be snooker player John Parrot, Everton football stars Gary Ablett, Dave Watson and Barry Horne; John Fitzpatrick of New York's Fitzpatrick's Hotel, and Nick Koumourianos, managing director of Cable & Wireless. The throttle is let off at 2.30 p.m., and the gang will return to the Temple Bar biker restaurant in time to party the night away. It's horsepower of a different kind at the Curragh tomorrow, when the Budweiser Irish Derby goes into full gallop, and this year the focus is on fashion, so leave that biker leather at home.
