Since 1995, Thunderroad Café has been bringing food, music and people together on Fleet Street. From our motorcycle-themed beginnings to the celebrations still happening today, our story has always had a home in the heart of Temple Bar, Dublin.

where the story started
In 1995, Paddy Gallagher opened Thunderroad Café on Fleet Street. The original 194-seat restaurant had a custom motorcycle theme, with bikes on display and an adjoining Harley-Davidson clothing shop.
The details were memorable: large video screens, a rock ’n’ roll soundtrack and staff who brought the room to life. Early newspaper coverage captured the atmosphere, including spontaneous dancing that pulled guests into the action.

the doors open
Thunderroad Café arrives in Temple Bar, bringing together motorcycle culture, American-style dining and a lively soundtrack. Our first chapter begins on Fleet Street.

riding for a cause
The inaugural Bikers for Breast Cancer run sets off from Thunderroad Café. Riders come together to support breast cancer fundraising, making community part of our story from the start!
